To the Zoo

We recently made another trip to the zoo and were lucky enough to be able to meet Pam and Karen, my two very good friends from college there...

Of course, cal loves the zoo, as most of you know, so it was a grand old time with cal being shocked around every corner.

Pam refused to go in and check out the goats, she said she could do that at home anytime!

It just seems like I never get to see those girls enough anymore and it was good to catch up a little. as I dropped them off in their parking lot at the end of the day, cal was very upset, he thought they were going home with us!

Lights at the Zoo

It was that time of year again... but we have all been so busy that we didn't think we were going to make it to see the lights at the zoo this year... However, we made it happen this saturday. Thank goodness! it was so great

we all enjoyed the wonders of the beautiful array of colors that they put up. and their display at the entrance where they play music in time to the lights... just awesome. I took a little video of it, but I am not sure if I will be able to upload it to blogger. It was freezing cold, but Cal didn't seem to mind. I wish we could have made it earlier in the year... this weekend probably was by far the busiest weekend for the lights.... as adam would say, "it was an absolute zoo there!"

To the Zoo... again!

Ah, yes, the ZOO. A favorite pasttime of moms and kids everywhere. the best time to go is during the week. when most everyone is not able to be there, but if you are lucky, you can catch the animals at their finest.

And, since we have a membership and many days mommy is home all day with cal by herself, we took another brief excursion to the zoo... cal absolutely adores checking out the zoo and the bronze statues scattered throughout.

Cal and mommy went with daddy's cousin, alicia and her son Linkin...

The kids were wore down by the time we walked outta there.

Family trip to the zoo

Well, we did it, we bit the bullet and bought a zoo membership this year. with cal at an age that makes him crazy about animals, we thought it was a good idea, especially since if you go twice, you really make up for the cost of the membership!

Cal is crazy about the aviary exhibit and we probably spent most of our time in there especially with all the baby birds, it was so fun to see them all sticking their little heads out of nests and such.

But of course, one of our favorite exhibits is the gorillas... they are so much fun to watch, probably because they are just so darn much like us! picking their noses and jumping around and having fun, etc.

and now that we have cal, we also spend a lot of time at the children's play area, which is just like watching the baby gorillas play...
